I just received my new ring yesterday and am so delighted! I want to share with y'all a bit more information about it!
The center stone is called Zircon. Blue Zircon is rare. It is the oldest known natural mineral to man, dating back billions of years. It is not at all associated with cubic zirconia which is a man made material. The stone has been believed for centuries to have healing powers for those who wear it. It is said to be one of the most "sparkly" stones just like a diamond, because they are very similar in properties.
Another cool thing about the center stone is that I can actually find out at some point how old the stone is. As in when it was formed in the earth. Some crazy thing about how Zircon crystals accumulate atoms of Uranium which decay to lead at a known rate. Cray Cray!
The band is 14k rose gold. In person it will be much more pink as rose gold is.
In the picture it looks like the diamonds are diff colors but they aren't. They are rose cut which makes them absorb the light differently.
This ring was handmade in 1910!!! It is 103 years old!
It clearly has a story and how neat it will be to pass on to Nevaeh. :)
This beautiful antique ring represents James and I now. It represents what I value. I find this ring to be inspiring and so special. It is beautiful to me and I love how different it is. :) Cheers to the next 10 years together! :)
Would you wear a really different engagement/wedding ring like this?
